Dear Oakwood Avenue Community School Families,
We are excited to invite all students, families, and staff to participate in Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on Friday, November 14th, 2025! This special day honors Ruby Bridges’ courage and her role in advancing school integration and equality.
📍 Meeting Location: Corner of Central and Oakwood Avenue (Speedway Gas Station)
⏰ Meeting Time: 8:10 AM
From there, we’ll take a short, meaningful walk together to school to celebrate unity, courage, and community.
We encourage everyone to wear purple in support of Ruby Bridges and to bring posters or signs that honor her legacy.
Let’s come together as a school community to reflect on the importance of inclusion and equality—and to walk in the spirit of Ruby Bridges’ inspiring journey.
