Celebrating Attendance

🎉 Oakwood Avenue Community School: One Month Strong! 🎉
Dear Oakwood Avenue Community School Families,
Congratulations on successfully completing the first month of the school year! We want to thank our students, parents, and caregivers for helping make the start of the year a positive and successful experience.
We would also like to recognize and celebrate the many students who have demonstrated excellent attendance by arriving on time and ready to learn every day. Your commitment to making education a priority is something to be proud of!
At Oakwood Avenue Community School, we know that attendance matters. Research consistently shows that students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve academic success, develop strong relationships, and build positive habits that support lifelong learning.
Every school day provides important opportunities for learning that cannot be fully replaced when students are absent. Even missing just a few days of school throughout the year, arriving late, or leaving early can result in lost instructional time that impacts academic achievement. Consistent attendance helps students stay connected to their teachers, classmates, and classroom learning.
As we continue through the school year, we ask all families to make daily attendance a priority whenever possible. Together, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We encourage you to take a few minutes to watch the "Bringing Attendance Home" video, where students, parents, and educators share why attendance is so important:

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Let's keep the momentum going and make every day count!
Let's have a great October.
Together, Every Day Matters!

Warm regards,

Where Attendance, Achievement, and Success Go Hand in Hand
