This message is from Principal Dana Gaines. At approximately 9:02 am on October 14, 2026, Oakwood Avenue Community School conducted a routine safety drill with a fire drill. We concluded the drill at 9:07 am without any issues. All students and staff followed the necessary protocols put in place. Please talk with your child, if you deem it appropriate, about the drill. Our goal, while practicing important safety procedures, is to be sure all students feel as safe as possible. New Jersey State Law 18A:41-1 requires all schools to hold at least one fire drill and one security drill per month as part of our overall school preparedness. We greatly appreciate your support and cooperation.
